In reviewing the final packet for this week's meeting that was received at 5:30pm today, Item 9.1 contains insufficient information for council members to understand the purpose of the request, why it is on the agenda, changes we'll be deliberating, or proposed action we will be expected to take. The only information provided is a copy of the current protocol document in its entirety.
Section 2, Sub-section (a), Paragraph 3 states that items placed on the agenda are to be submitted to staff preferably by noon on the Tuesday of the week prior to the Thursday Council meeting (June 11th in this instance). It further states that the request should state the nature of the item, the desired action by City Council, and include any supporting material.
I respectfully request that you provide background information and a summary of your request in order for the entire council to be adequately prepared for an informed discussion on Thursday. I request this be provided as soon as possible, but no later than 5pm on Tuesday June 18th to allow time for council members to understand the purpose of this item.
