The Historic Preservation Commission met last night. They reviewed and approved two Certificates of Appropriateness within the historic district; one for a new home that was previously approved, but for which the COA had expired, and the other for a new detached structure on an existing home lot. They also approved the sign for the new Endodontist going in on Taylor Street.
The remainder of the time was spent receiving a presentation from the City of Denton, who has been holding historical events each May in conjunction with Historic Preservation Month. The Commission received some great information and ideas on what might be implemented in Hutto. They will do more research and planning and hope to have something in place by May 2024. This topic will be discussed at least quarterly in their meetings. They are also making progress on the history writing project.
